The city of Potsdam was featured in an article in last week's Economist, which is kind of fun. Here is a link to the article, which discusses private-property issues surrounding a popular footpath along one of our local lakes.
Potsdam is literally surrounded by lakes and rivers, and all sorts of related outdoor activities are extremely popular. One activity, which I had not seen before in the city, is marching along using poles as though one were cross-country skiing. And, this being Europe, one is of course required to be wearing spandex during this activity.
