Recent Ski Adventures

Here are some pictures from some recent ski adventures:

First up is a nice shot taken at Alpental at Snoqualmie Pass. The day started out cloudy, but the sun came through nicely, given us a nice view across the valley. Iva enjoyed improving her parallel turn while I got in some practice on the telemark skis.

Next up, photos from a trip in the Wind River drainage, just north of Stevenson, WA. We met up with Eric in Cascade Locks, crossed the Columbia River on the Bridge of the Gods, and headed up the Wind River Road, where a large number of Snow Parks are located. We opted for the 10+ mile Hard Time Loop, which passes through some clear cuts providing views of Mt. St. Helens, as well as through some nice forested sections.

Here we are applying some glide wax - the warm snow was sticky in places!

Eric enjoyed his hummus sandwhich!

A nice view from a gap in the trees.

If you take a close look at this picture [click on it for a larger version] you can see the top of Mt. St. Helens, as well as some ridges lying to the east.
