Mark & Eric Visit IV, Prague

We concluded our trip with a visit to Prague, where I celebrated my birthday with a scenic beer (thanks to Mark for finding this place!)...

... and dinner in a local pub.

We enjoyed exploring the old city of Prague which has lots of cute buildings.

The European Soccer Championship was happening at the time and every evening crowds would gather in the main square to watch the matches.

Nearby is an amazing clock with keeps track of the time on both the 24-hour scale and the traditional Czech scale (sunrise to sunset). It also keeps track of the phase of the moon, the date on both the lunar calendar and the church calendar, and the times of various astronomical events. The apostles also parade by when the clock strikes the hour.

Nearby is a cafe where Einstein played his violin and met with Kafka and others.

Prague is also full of references to the title charaacter of Hasek's classic "The Good Soldier Svejk", including this pub.

Finally, Prague has an amazing night-time skyline, including the castle and Charles bridge.
