Still no internet at home

So, I signed up for internet (DSL) 3 weeks ago (perhaps more). Two weeks go by and I receive a wireless router for my apartment in the mail (see previous post). Friday the technician arrives to connect everything together and discovers... that there is no phone line leading to my apartment! What!?!?!?!? How can this be? What did the previous tenant do? So I will have to wait a couple more weeks for a phone line to be installed... Argh.
